XD .40 sights.. Which brand?

Last week I had to take my kid to Bass Pro for a new bow string. While he was at the bow counter, I was hanging around the gun counter. They had truglo TFOs for the XD9/40 sized slide for $99. It's a reasonable price since there is no shipping charge. I keep eyeballing them, but I don't shoot my XDs enough to justify the purchase yet.

Basicblur, I think it might depend on what you interpret the size of the target in the illustration to be. The way I have always understood a sight picture and 6 o'clock sights is how I illustrated it. I have always held my sights level at the very center of the target with the understanding that the bullet would impact just over where you were holding the sights. I suppose a better way to say it would be to put an x right in the center of the targets in my illustration and that is where the impact should be.

I suppose I could be misunderstanding what each term means, but with my XDm, you have to completely cover the target to hit the center of the target. As in put the white dot of the front sight on the bullseye and you will be on target. Even at close ranges, say 7 or 8 yards, if you aim as if they are 6 o'clock sights like in my illustration, you will be at the bottom of the target, 8-10 inches low.

It could just be how I shoot, but I know for a fact that many other people shoot the same way, at least the people I have talked to about it with and shoot with.

I have tried several different sighting systems. At one point I was running Tritium Tru Glo Fiber Optic in the front and regular night sights in the rear. In daylight the Fiber optic was awesome. In the dark, unfortunately, the rear night sights were brighter than the front. I didn't like this. I also had TruGlo's installed in both front and rear. I kind of felt that the fiber optics could be fragile. I had a conversation with a full time firearms instructor whom I respect and he sees a lot of firearms in action. He confirmed they tend to have problems. What I really wanted was something where I could quickly pick up the front sight in a self defense situation (as opposed to a good set of target shooting sights). I put on the XS big dot sights with the v groove type rear (the standard one it comes with). I really like it. I've put it on anything I might potentally use as a self defense pistol. I haven't found anything better. It didn't take long to get used to it. It works for me and I'm happy with it.

Here's Springfield's take on it (page 40 of the XD manual).
I agree with their POA pix, but to me their 6 o'clock site pix needs to be moved up to where the top of the sights are touching the bottom of the bullseye ring-not the bottom of the second ring?

'Course, it's pretty arbitrary anyway-distances/loads/bullet weight etc will vary results.
