Anyone think that the makers of the Springfield Armory imported XD and XDM pistols will make a line of semiauto pistol caliber rifles/carbines?

If they did, would you buy one? I think it would be a good competitor with the Beretta CX4 and the new Taurus rifle.

I like th XDM line and would like the magazines to be interchangeable.

I'd probably buy one if the sights were picatinny type attachments.

The wing flaps on the Beretta carbine can't be removed so you have to mount optics which sit even higher than the stock sights.

I don't trust Taurus and I am not sure why their carbine is so heavy...

If the CZ-UB Scorpion EVO3 S1 was ever imported to the states, I'd buy it.

I don't trust Taurus either and the Beretta just isn't quite right for me.

I do like the mags loading into the grip on the Betetta. And I like the rail system in the Taurus, but they need better sights or no sights so you can toss your own on, interchangeable higher cap mags with their pistols, and a folding butt stocks.

HSP and springfield will likely not make such a gun. springfield is pretty invested in the M1a and HSP makes a FAMAs type rifle, the latter of which would be more likely for import than a PCC. any such rifle would be subject to the same neutering as what the taurus CT29 is currently facing and would likely not sell very well. there is a conversion made by CCA which gives the XD and XDM a stock and charging handle but the civi legal version has been discontinued so you would have to get the SBR form before you got it.

HS-produkt does manufacture self loading carbines, but not in pistol caliber.

The other carbine that I am interested in is the Tavor w the 9mm conversion kit, although I'd want to see what reliability and accuracy are like on it before purchasing one.

Thureon Defense makes pistol calibered carbines in 9x19mm, .357SIG, .40S&W, 10x25mm and .45ACP.

Current offerings are:
GA Carbine = uses Glock magazines
SA Carbine = uses Uzi magazines

At the 2014 SHOT Show, Thureon Defense unveiled three new lines of carbines.
MP Carbine = uses S&W M&P magazines
SG Carbine = uses SIG magazines
XA Carbine = uses XDM magazines

Too bad it is not smaller, and much cheaper. I can get into a standard AR setup in 9MM that uses quality 20 and 30 round mags for much less, and the lower is 100% compatible with other uppers.

My XDm 5.25 in 9mm came with three 19 round magazines.

I'd be pretty excited to have a smaller carbine platform that took those same magazines.....

With all the XD gear promos over the years, I have a good number of XD 9mm magazines which could be a cost saving if they ever offered it. But I want something that is actually a Carbine, not some plastic plug and play with my pistol.
