XD rattle?

I noticed while loading my XD .45 magazines that 2 of them have a loud rattle sound. Almost sounds like one of the rounds is loose inside the magazine. I compared the springs of the two rattling magazines to the one that doesn't and cannot tell a difference. Anyone else have this sort of problem and should I worry about it?

Stop shaking your magazines.

In a double column magazine that tapers to a single column at the top, not every cartridge is under pressure from the spring all the time. Some will rattle, others not, but it is normal as long as every round feeds. When the mag is in the gun and against a closed slide, there will be no rattle.

My XDm .40 mags rattle in the gun, but not out.

My XDsc does not rattle at all, ever.

Yep, it's normal. Not a problem at all.

The rattling stops if the magazine is pressed into the magwell, but not when it is hanging down a half a mm. At least in my experience with my XDm 40 compact.

I recently switched to M&P compact and I don't have issues anymore.

Load the mag and whack the back of it on your boot heel to settle the rounds.
