I REALLY REALLY liked the looks of the XD's when they first came out. Even owned a 9mm one for a short while (Flipped it for more $)
When the .45 was introduced I ALMOST bought one.
The parts issue stoped me... I called Springfield... they said they wern't changing their policy.
I'm glad.
I have been in classes with both the .45 and 9mm XD's and they have been VERY problematic with hard use.
I will not own one after watching them under those conditions.
OTOH I LOVE my Hi Powers!
