XRail - Remington 1100 test - 22 shots in 13 seconds.

XRail - Remington 1100 test

Have you guys ever seen anything like this before? A buddy of mine at work shared this with me today, and I thought it was a pretty neat idea. He's helping a friend of his with some of the engineering on it. I'm not sure of the particulars, or of how complex the design is, but I thought some of you might get a kick out of it.

What is it and what does it do? I can't tell from the video.

EDIT: Alright, I'm a dummy. I totally missed the fact that he just fired 22 rounds without reloading!

I don't get it. Any further info? Yeah I see that they modded it somehow to make it hold 22 rounds, but why is he shooting it so slowly?

He's probably aiming it between shots.

The product is designed to increase the ammunition capacity. I think he's shooting it at that staccato pace to highlight the number of rounds fired. If he just went *BLAMBLAMBLALALALBELDKABLAM-O!*, it would be harder to tell he's firing 22 separate shots.

I see where it's a "neat" idea, BUT...

there's always a but...

What does it do to the balance of the gun to have 22 rounds of 12 ga ammo hanging out there on the end??

An 8 shot version is heavy enough as it is. I can't imagine adding 14 more rounds to that weight without compromising ease of handling or the speed which it can be brought to bear.

Not trying to be overly critical here. I'm sure there's a market for the product and it certainly seemed to function as designed. Kudos to them for that. I simply don't see the utility of the product itself.
