The question is who makes them for Everglades? Some 9MM JHPs they sell appear to be Zeros.
They have Montana Gold products under that name. I don't have enough insight into the bullet sellers to know who can manufacture and who cannot, but given the pricing of the Everglades FMJs my guess is they actually make them. If you buy 3750 they are $69.07/1000 for the 124gr.

I like zero bullets, they seem to be high quality all the time. As for plated bullets, I have only used Berry's and I think they make their own bullets.

I have been using only lead and Hi-Tek 2 coated lead bullets for several years now. I like the Hi-Tek calculated bullets better than plated bullets because for me they are easier to load.

Good to know. Freedom M pissed me off something awful a few years back and I won't do a lick of business with them ever again. So, I can add extreme to that as well apparently. Thanks for the tip!

Howell owns X-Treme and Freedom Munitions but also Ammo Load - http://www.howellmunitionsandtech.com/

Members posted in the past Freedom 9mm with Ammoload headstamp had internal step - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/thick-wall-cases.772561/#post-9791480
Somebody in another thread (maybe another forum?) a couple of days ago mentioned they had found some “FM” headstamped brass with the step in it.

I called Freedom Munitions a couple of months ago and asked them if the brass for sale on their website had the step. They said they don’t sell or use that type brass anymore. A friend of mine shoots 9mm FM ammo. I looked at some of the fired cases recently and they had FM headstamp but didn’t have the step. I toss all the Ammoload cases I get and any others that have an internal step. But, some folks say they load the stepped cases with no problem. Just not my cup of tea.

I believe the stepped Ammoload cases had same case wall thickness going down towards the case which required that step ring inside especially 9mm being a tapered case.

Good to hear FM brass no longer uses the step.

Yes indeed. The 115gr. version is a bit cheaper yet (67.25/1000 in lots of 3750) if ultimate economy in a true FMJ is the goal. At that small of a difference I get the 124. Really nice bullets either way, and they ship fast and come zip lock bags of 500ea. The bags are about 5 times thicker than any others I've seen and are ideally sized to hold 200 loaded 9mm rounds. 5 stars overall.

The internal stepped cases are not good to use in blowback actions, where the brass is being extracted while still under high pressure. There is more chance of a case separating under that situation (plenty of photo evidence of that on the net).

They are a bit different approach than the RMR FMJs, in that they use a concave base to elongate the bearing surface rather than a blunt nose. You can load them to longer OALs due to their more pointed nose - 1.145" will clear a barrel with no leade and my guns will chamber 1.165" without issue.

I do like the longer profile nose, as they can be seated longer and seem to feed more reliably. The RMR regular plated bullets have a similar profile, their "HM" (Hardcore Match) typically have a shorter profile.

I do believe that the concave base Xtreme bullets are listed as "HPCB" (Heavy Plated, Concave Base) and their regular RN bullets (that I have used thousands of) are flat base. I have not tried the HPCB yet, but the regular RN bullets have worked very well for me.

The ones the just clearanced for 5.5 cents each were the HP (hollowpoint) variety, which are also 'HBCB' (heavy-plate concave base). I'd have been happy with a normal RN or FN variety at that price.

I just received notice my first 3K shipped (it took a week). OP, you may have a 'special' issue.

WVSig asked:
Have you bought from them in the past?

Yes, I have.

I have bought jacketed 55 grain .224 and jacketed 115 grain .355 bullets from them in the past. I have been satisfied enough with their service and what I received that I placed subsequent orders.

I should say that I have shot lubricated lead bullets from my .45 ACP, and a few plated bullets that I got in a "grab bag" for 9mm, but apart from these, I shoot jacketed bullets exclusively.

How do they compare to Precision Delta or Berrys?

Have not used either of those, so I can't say.

I have no idea, but then I've never asked.

My attitude is that if the bullet is well made, has consistent weight and is dimensionally consistent, I don't much care who pressed the slug of lead wire into the gilding metal extrusion.

For self-defense, I buy factory ammunition - usually Glaser Safety Slugs - because I have read the post about using headloads in the Legal section. For punching paper or harvesting game, I am not quite as particular.
