When I started reloading .380 with the XTreme 100 gr FP plated bullet, I just bought a box of Freedom Munitions reloads that use the same bullet, measured them, and used the same OAL of .950"
Five thousand rds later, they've worked just fine in four different guns.

Now I'd like to switch my 9mm reloading to the XTreme 124 gr FP (actually, a truncated cone) plated bullet. But when I looked on the Freedom Munitions page, they don't have any loaded ammunition, new or reloads, using that same bullet. I believe they used to sell it, but not now.

So does anyone here have some of the factory Freedom Munitions 9mm 124 gr plated FP bullet ammo, so they could measure the OAL and post the number here?
Or if you've been loading the same bullet and worked up your own OAL, that might help.

Thanks!

I can't help with the Freedom Munitions round, and it's the 124 Gr HP, not the TrFP, but I load the X-Treme 124 Gr HP at 1.060 and it runs fine in my guns. That is a little short though, and it could stand to be loaded a hair longer. Works though.

I load the RMR FPs to 1.09. The Xtremes are a little shorter I would try around 1.08 and see if it plunks in your gun, you may need to go shorter.
Bottom line, plunk to see what fits.
I have more than one 9mm so I like to setup for the one that needs the ammo shortest, that way it will work in all my guns.

Jim- your particular barrel determines that number. Google "chamber plunk test". Main attraction to reloading is that we load for our own guns. Not just a "one size fits all" loading.

Thanks for the comments.
My normal technique is to load an OAL that's best for feeding, then do the plunk as a secondary criteria. Either way, the load needs to pass muster in both respects.
