OK, saw a gun on GunBroker I wanted. Gun is clearly C&R qualified but I always ask. He replies that he is afraid of breaking the law by not shipping to an FFL. Seller is not an FFL and had never heard of C&R. So I explain that the C&R is an FFL (for collectors) and send him link to ATF info.

Now he's afraid that the gun isn't 50 years old.

It must be awful to live your life in constant fear. This is what the government is doing to us; turning us into cowering wretches scared to death of violating some mindless regulation. We used to be free men filled with courage. Now, we whimper and whine, cowed by Big Brother.

It's a sad, sad thing.

Yes, it's sad, but do you blame him?

the BATFE has proven that ignorance to laws is no defense from their judgment. You'll fry if you make a mistake, knowingly or not.

My most recent ex-girlfriend was the same way, but I'd have to extend that to almost everything in her case. She was particularly paranoid about the legality of everything I owned (you know, like bolt action .22s).
