Yesterday in the barn, AKA: melting stuff is fun!

Very nice @Hooda Thunkit !

It's shame your COWW source is going under, for them and for you. Any chance you can find another spot in town to source from?
Well, it's a small town, and I spent a good deal of time cultivating a relationship with my former supplier. It's a dang shame they closed down.

There are a couple other possible sources relatively nearby, and I have made initial, tentative forays into obtaining wheelweight from them.
While I wasn't actually snarled at, I came away with the feeling that both places could be chalked up as longshots.

I've got about 80 pounds of wheel weight ingots, about 50 pounds of wheel weights, about 40 pounds of pure sewer pipe joint lead ingots and about 30 pounds of recovered bullets.
I'm almost ready to pull out my pair of Lee bottom pour pots and variety of ingot molds (and some of my lead soldier molds) now that the weather has moderated... .

I said the bucket of CWW was about 75 pounds. The ingot buckets had about 50 pounds in each.

A full bucket of CWW is well over 125 pounds, usually over 150.
I had a 5+ gal bucket (one of those buckets that pool chlorine tablets come in) of clips and metal weights full to the brim. It's weight at the scrap yard was a bit over 100 lbs. IIRC. I lifted it up into the van. I surely wouldn't try to lift a bucket full of lead. :)

I used to travel to a larger area for work once a month back in the 80's, would always scrounge WW for me and my buddies. Used to be able to lift a full bucket into my 3/4 ton truck with no problems. I rendered some during a warm spell at Christmas, used a dolly to move the buckets around, bet I couldn't lift a full bucket into my 1/2 ton truck now!

😂 LOL!!
Yup. Years and miles.

I'm here to tell you, 80 pound sacks of concrete weight much, much more than they did 40 years ago. ;)
