Well I was looking at buying myself a Christmas Present… now that I have got some Christmas money…
I haven’t bought a new gun in over a year and the itch is getting to me something crazy…
At first I was looking at a USFA Rodeo in .38 but no one seems to have them in stock and having one ordered from the factory is a little out of my price range…
So, I started looking at Ruger. Now most of my guns are Rugers but I don’t have any of their single actions. (I didn’t want to get yet another Ruger but it looks like I am anyway…. Hahahaha)
I have narrowed it down to the 38/357 caliber. My local shop has a Blackhawk Bisley (standard Bisley but chambered in .357), a Vaquero (Ruger black/blued), and then a NM Blackhawk (stainless).
Now I cant narrow it down to which one of these I should buy. I hate these types of threads and don’t like starting this one but for the life of me I just cant decide.
Now I don’t know if the USFA is better, I heard the triggers are pretty nice, and I have heard that the Rugers have grit to them (although I don’t notice it all that much) I do like the springs in the Rugers better.
As for the Rugers I have listed, I am contemplating fixed sights vs adjustable. Every ruger I have (all autoloaders with adj. sights) came from the factory with the sights way off. I had to adjust them and it was no big deal. Now with the fixed sight Vaquero I don’t have that luxury but am I rally going to have to worry about it?
I wont be shooting SASS, just paper targets, clays, and aluminum cans at the range….
I like the traditional look of the Vaquero but I like the ability to adjust my sights as well….
What do you fellers say?
