I lost my concentration and ......OOOPS

BCA stainless heavy barrel 223wylde,
LC 23 brass, 22.1 gr mp540, RMR 75gr 3gh. 2.2515

LaRue mbt 2s trigger and sightron 4x16 with 1/8 moa dot.

If I can replicate that 4 shot group I'll be happy.

You call that pulling a shot? 20230611_135148.jpg
I could feel the butt slip on my shoulder as I pulled off the third shot that landed at 8 o'clock in the 8 ring.
I know that sick feeling all too well. That was my 100yd Benchrest Black Powder Cartridge match target. The buffalo was looking back at me with smirking grin.
1940 Terni Arsenal Carcano M1938 21" barrel.
6.5x52mm Norma case, .264 160gr Speer bullet,, weighed 38gr Triple Se7en BP substitute, CCI large pistol magnum primer.

Yep that had to hurt.

Yep. Must be a law.

I think if I can repeat that group, and it maintains its vertical shape. I may keep increasing the charge till it gets round, falls apart, or, I hit pressure signs. But if it will keep shooting like that.......I'm happy.

Managed to concentrate for 15 shots in a 20 shot competition.......until the 15th shot hit the spindle holding the 3" spotter disc in the 14th bullet hole. The wooden spindle splintered, blowing an 8-10" hole in the target, requiring target repair, which took 5-10 minutes before they could get my target up. During this time the wind switched (and my concentration switched with it) and my next 2 shots were 9's. :uhoh:

That's brutal to have that kind of string broken by a technical issue!

How do you know it wasn't the bullet?

Recently, I was shooting some 77 SMK blems, and had three 5-shot groups where four shots would touch and one would be 1/2 inch outside.

The groups were all sub MOA so I was happy with that. I need to do another test with non-blems to make sure it was me and not the bullet.

I knew it was off. Called flyer. I was into my squeeze and I thought about the last round I sent and the trigger broke, and the crosshair was not in the center of the target as it had been for the previous shots.

Not too bad until I checked the 4-ring. I rushed that one way too much. Technically the one in the 7-ring was a flyer from the first shot of a different pellet type.

12 shots total: 7 Daisy pointed pellets and 5 flat wadcutter pellets from a break barrel Buckmark pellet pistol at 5-6 yards.

If I was President and running for reelection, instead of chanting, “4 more years!” My slogan would be, “4 shot groups!”

Some people advocate for 3 shot groups from a cold barrel. I agree, I can't remember the last time I took more than 2 shots on an elk or deer.
