You think it's enough?

I thought about this when I first read it but want to give a good reply.

2500 rounds is nice and would make my left wing friends go insane as “no one needs That much ammo”. The reality though is those of us who shoot a lot or will be shooting a lot know 2500 rounds goes fast.

So no, it’s not enough. Yes it’s a good start but if you don’t have a plan to keep it restocked it’ll be gone before you know it.

I’d suggest coming up with a system of when to buy more ammo and how much. Maybe pick up a box of 300 to 500 on the way home from the range. Or do it every other time. Or fill a jar with coins and bills for what she uses so you can order more. Teach her that building a supply is important so that WHEN the next shortage comes she’ll be ready and able to shoot. It’ll teach her planning, budgeting, saving and preparedness.

I love to see the youngins burning ammo.

I'm exactly the opposite,,,
I like to see the young-uns shooting slow and making good hits.

This is obviously not the case with this young lady,,,
She's shooting matches at 10 years of age and winning.

But still, I'm of the shoot slow and hit your target school for kids.

BTW,,,
What is: sasp action steel

Guess it depends on her.....gave my youngest son a 5000 round case of .22 for his birthday, it was gone in one weekend. That's when I parked the 10/22, hi-capacity mags, and speedloaders....bought him a bolt action instead.

Its a gift. 2500 makes a good gift at that. Might not be "enough" but what is? You cant cover "enough" in one gift. I get what your saying though but people are missing the whole naiveness hence cuteness of a kid looking at a pile of ammo and wondering if its enough. Instead getting way too technical.

Good job op! And congratulations to her.

Why so stingy? :)

You've got a champion there; you need to encourage her to develop her gift!

Maybe you could tie her performance in the competitions to bricks of 22LR?

Ooops.

I learned to shoot on a Marlin 60, but I was only given one cartridge at a time.

My older son learned on a Remington 597; ten magazines, but at the start only one round in each magazine.

My younger son specifically wanted a bolt gun to enforce patience. Marlin XT-22. Turns out he has his great grandmother's gift for shooting.

Well said

I once got cash for a present but it was too small. Tried to exchange it but the only larger size was the “Big Bucks”at Spencer’s. But those aren’t real money.

I spent so many years shooting a single shot .22 that when I fired the rifle I wanted every shot to be a bulls eye.
It took time and energy to shoot off a box of 50 and doing it accurately meant giving each shot some concentration.
It all paid off though when I tryed shooting a 9mm pistol for the first time.
The guy watching me said (with amazement) that my first 5 shots were a real tight group and right in the center of the target.

Whenever I buy a brick of .22s for myself I usually buy one for my daughter. Just makes more sense that way.

Of course I'm also the guy that loads her spare magazines for her so she has more trigger time at the range.
