First off,GREAT site:D ,secondly,Iv'e asked this in a few other sites and the responses are s l o w  to slim and I'd like to hear more opiniuns, sooooo,I thought I'd give it a whirl here if I may,
I'm looking for advice on a rough idea of $ value
to ask for a rifle package I have .It's a Ruger M77V,bull barrel
in .25-06(1980/81ish)with a Burris Signiture series 6X-24X scope ,with target knobs
nailed on top,all in 95% condition or better.Need to turn it loose at the
gun show so I can fund a hand cannon I'm looking at:)Thanks for any
thoughts you might have.

go to a gun shop and have it properly valued. the gunsmith can then write of a piece of the shops labled paper stating that value so you have more credability when selling it @ the show, good luck!

sasnofear's idea is okay; also, you might discuss a consignment deal with a gunstore. 20% is a common commission, but I'd make sure that included any paperwork costs. Your general market is a bit smallish for the .25-'06, but there's always that one guy who just can't live without one.

I'd guesstimate asking $500-$550 retail, for the package, and anything over $400 is pure gravy. It's not that the rig isn't "worth" more, but I'm looking at the old "cash talks, BS walks" motto.

I wouldn't argue against folks who might be a bit more current than I as to what prices actually see cash move.

Go to www.ktpguns.com
This will allow you to search The Kittery Trading Post's inventory of used firearms. They should have a Ruger similar to yours listed. Caliber may vary, but you should come away with a ballpark number. They usually offer in trade between 60 and 65% of what you'll see posted as the asking price.
As to a used scope I always tried to price them at about 60% of the going price that Midway or Natchez or some of the other big mail order / internet dealer lists. Using that as a basis your Burris should come in at about $250.
Finally I checked Fjestad's 22nd edition Blue Book. They list as follows for the Ruger M77V
100% $430
98% $395
95% $325
90% $265
Remember these are the prices a dealer will ask at retail not offer in trade.
Take Care

In my experience glass, even Leupold, brings very little second hand compared to the ante.

Values of rifles really vary from region to region but I just traded in a 95% 77MKII heavy barrel in 22-250 with a cheap BSA 6-24x scope. No box or manual and got $550 for it. I'd guess that a shop in most places would give you less for a 25-06 than for a 22-250.

If we weren't buying a house next month, I'd offer to buy it at $450 and would give you $500 before letting you go to the show with it.

Out of curosity, is your rifle blued or stainless with brown/tan stock or one of those that has a black and gray laminated stock?

Great replys ,all of you ,I really appreciate your candor, and cratz2
,yes it is all blued and a nice dark wood stained, old fashioned stock, not the laminated style(I really don't care for those much).Once again,EXCELLANT site:)My goal is to try to trade it for a nice S&W 29 or 629 ,6"or better, classic revolver, which by all your info,I think I might be able to pull off.I'm only letting it go because I have a "back-up" 1903 Springfield chambered in .25-06 with a Douglas bull barrel,Canjar double set trigger, custom cherry wood varminter stock, topped off with a Unertl 15X Ulrta Varminter 2" scope,so I think I'm cvered:) Thanks again!
