Your CCW "safety" position

well, I don't really know how to answer this, as I carry three different guns. the Kahr MK40 and my namesake Beretta are both carried safety off (the kahr because it doesn't have one, and the Beretta because it's double action, so why waste time?), however, I just picked up a Springfield WWII Mil-Spec, and that will be carried Cocked and Locked. (I'll have to train myself to sweep for the safety with all of them, anyway. that way I won't forget to unsafe the 1911)

Except for the single-action only in cocked & locked, I don't want anything between a trigger press and a BOOM.

I carried a Beretta 96FS on patrol. Figured if I carried with the safety disengaged that I'd be good to go. Well, Mr. Murphy was being extraordinarily nice to me and a taught me the error of my way on the range instead of the street.
If you have a safety, you are highly advised to train to immediately disengage it when you present your pistol.
And you better incorporate verifying that your safety is disengaged when performing the immediate actions to clear a failure to fire stoppage, e.g., tap, roll, rack and safety.

The SP101 has no safety.
The Beretta 96fs will be loaded and safety on.
I have trained myself that when I draw from a holster, my thumb takes the safety off as the gun comes out of the holster. Don't want to retrain myself now.
It's kinda funny actually. As I practice with the SP, my thumb still flicks the side of the cylinder like it's hunting for the safety of the Beretta.
