Your Favorite Ammo for S&W Model 41?

I recently acquired a S&W Model 41. Somewhat to my surprise I found that it would not reliably digest Wolf Match ammo.

This got me to wondering what ammo other Model 41 owners have had good luck with.

My current S&W M41 has shown no problems with Win HV, CCI HV, or CCI SV ammo. An early M41 (circa 1968) likewise showed no problems with Win ammo. Have never tried any version of Wolf ammo.

I have 2 - neither has ever failed on CCI SV or Green Tag...very irregular with Win and useless with Federal...I arranged a discount price from a local store by buying CCI SV in case lots so it's reasonable.

I keep the chamber, extractor hook and firing pin recess clean - other than that, lube often and patch the barrel annually.

I stick with Federal Gold Medal Target. UltraMatch gives great results but that stuff is pricey! And I think they stopped making UltraMatch.

I don't shoot anything in my pre-agreement model 41 but CCI standard velocity. If I could find Fiocchi 320, I'd shoot that.

I'm sure the gun would handle lots of ammunition brands, types, and velocities, but since I buy CCI standard velocity by the case for my High Standards, that's what the model 41 gets.
