Ciener conversion kit on a rebuilt AMT frame.

attachment.php

Left to right:

Dedicated AR15 in .22. Ciener bolt, KKF bbl, M1s upper, RRA lower, BDM mags, lots of parts I had laying around, I think the rest came from PK firearms, I'm not sure.

GSG-5. Bone stock. Shoots high, or low, I cant remember. Windage is dead on though.

9mm RRA. It also serves for HD most of the time.

I like the Walther PP imitation. I have a real one in .32ACP (7.65mm.).

They use a ‘Self-contained Air Cartridge’ (SAC). Each cartridge is placed in a specially made pump and pumped twice to give full power. (You can vary the length of the pump’s stroke to reduce the power if you want to shoot indoors). The nose cone is removed and an air-pellet placed into it. The cone is reattached and you have a cartridge full of compressed air plus the pellet ready to be used when you want it.

These are air pistols though so the best you can hope for is 6 foot pound of muzzle energy which is enough for accurate shooting at 25 yards – cheap too!

The PPK look-alike is German made. You load the SACs into a magazine just like a real one but obviously you have to pull the slide back manually to eject a spent SAC and chamber the next one.

The Cattleman is made by Uberti and shoots 6 SACs as fast as you can pull back the hammer or as fast as you can fan it!

Both guns are in .22 and good fun to shoot for plinking purposes but obviously not ‘a patch’ on the real versions you folks can shoot!

Woohoo!!! The GSG-5 will eat the GBs!

I must have got some ammo from a freak lot a while back. Didnt have any prolems with the AR15 ciener conversion or the dedicated Cienered 1911.

So I got more of it. And it was from a different lot. And it sucks in the AR and the 1911. So I've got about 1500 rounds or so of crap. Now that I have something that will eat it, I can "properly dispose" of it:D

At present, the plinker I am firing most at the range is my Savage Mark II. Using Winchester Target ammo, I am achieving consistent groups that measure 1.5" X 0.75" at 100 yards. At 30 yards, it prints clover leaf clusters. For a scope, I am using my BSA 3-9, Sweet .22 with target turrets, and A/O. Regarding the 100 yards groups, it is interesting to note that out of 10 rounds fired, 8 rounds will fall solidly inside of a 0.75" X 0.75" clutser at 100 yards. However, there always seems to be two fliers. I actually blame me. I get all darned excited and watch the clutser instead of the crosshairs. :banghead:

The wildest thing is this: when the zero is set at 100 yards, I can switch to Aguila Colibri 20 grain rounds, and the zero for the Colibri is perfectly on at 20 yards. It just seems ideal for close-in head-shots on squirrel or rabbit. Then, if I see a crow or woodchuck at distance, the accuracy of the Win Target loads can do the trick. Anyhow, I'm having so darned much fun with this little .22LR that I take it each time I shoot. I fire 3 shots through the centerfire, then let it cool while I play.

One of these days I'll actually get around to small game hunting!

So far GBs seem to work best in my GSG-5. My "crap" so far, is Federal bulk.
