For what I do these days I use two powders:

HP-38 (W231) for my pistol shooting
H4895 for .223 and .308 loads

HP-38 was changed over to from unique because of how it meters
H4895 is used in my .223 loads because my rifle loves it under a 55 grain bullet.

I am not generally after extreme accuracy or max ballistics as long as I hit the target velocity I am after and it groups about what I expect I am perfectly happy to only stock 2 powders.

Please note that I do not shoot magnum pistols/revolvers. I don't think Hp-38 would fair well in that world.

For what i reload:

W-231 4.4gr for 124gr FMJ 9mm plinking

Trailboss 4.7 for 250gr LRN .45LC Cowboy plinking.

Of course up any for more aggressive rounds. All done on a Dillon SDB

Prior to the shortages I used nothing but Hodgdon Universal for most straight wall pistol rounds.

then I started using Titegroup because It was available and a powder I was familiar with.

Now I'm using HP-38 for the first time and so far I like it a lot. Like Universal and Titegroup there are a lot of reloads in the manuals listied for this powder.

well lets see

handgun 9mm and .357.... Tightgroup, w231 and H110... if Only 1 Probably W231....

Rifle... .223.... Surplus WC844... love it and is fairly inexpensive... and meters awesome....
