I just took delivery of one on Thursday. Only glass I had to mount up was a Super Sniper 10x, so that is what I used for now.
I also have a Savage GVXP ( Dicks Special ), the FV-SR is the newer E Receiver so the bolt throw is about 1/2 longer than the GVXP, however it is hardly noticeable. The larger bolt knob is a welcome addition.
Took it to the range Saturday am, some have said it needs 500+ rounds to settle in , I did not find that to be the case. I boresighted it at home , and had it hitting where I was aiming within 5 shots at the range.
I tried various types of ammo with it, all functioned and shot well , some much better than others.
Ammo tested:
- Wolf MT
- Federal Bulk
- Federal 510
- Remington Target Rifle
- Aquila Golden Eagle Match Rifle
- Aquila Super Extra ( just cause I had a brick of it )
- Remington Club Extra
- Aquila Subsonics
- Remington Subsonics
- CCI Blazer
Tt shot the Aquila Golden Eagle Match Rifle as well as it did the Remington Target Rifle, which is good for me as the Aquila is much cheaper
With Super Sniper 10x mounted ( soon to be replaced by a Mueller Target scope 8x32x44

50 yard group ( shot from the bench with Tactial Innovations "Stratus" can attached. I did shoot some tighter groups but forgot to grab that target.
The next time I go out I hope to have a few more brands/types of ammo to try out , liked Tenex, CCI SV , etc

In all I am very pleased with this rifle, for $280 I am extremely satisfied. I am not a huge fan of synthetic stocks, so the stock will be replaced with a Boyd Rimfire Hunter stock in the next couple months or so.
Pictures of the pair of Savage 22's I have now:

** It's just the angle I took the picture at , the FV-SR bll is quite a bit shorter than the other Savage. **
Hope this helps,
Reasons I didnt go with the TRR
Don't like the "Tacti-cool" stock at all.
Didnt want the longer bll ( would look crazy long with a can on it )
