I'm still of the opinion that if someone wants to carry around a loaded gun, they have at the very least an ethical responsibility to be proficient with that weapon in addition to the legal responsibility to exercise good judgment.

I agree 100%. That phrasing will not generate any disagreement in this forum. Where we might have an issue is with regard to those that might excercize their RKBA without choosing to avail themselves of the ethical responsibility to be proficient. As supporters of the RKBA, we MUST acknowledge they have that right, and then go about the work of educating them.

Shall Not be Infringed is simple enough to understand

As soon as you demand standards they are prone to be abused by anti gunners who will play loose and fast w/ the terms

Its a right period, regardless if one feels someone isnt 'good enough' to carry a gun

Liberty is a dangerous thing and must be lest we fall into the nanystate for our safety mentality

I am an avid supporter of the right to own firearms, but yes everyone should atleast be able to be safe and show responsibilty before being able to freely carry one.

Show responsibility to whom? How will responsibility be determined? Who writes that requirement? Politicians?

Have you ever wondered WHY politicians are hostile to the RKBA? There is only one answer to that question, that answer is precisely why the 2A disqualifies them from making those rules.
