i was shooting my yugo the other day, the shell wouldnt eject. i opened the gun up and the firing pin was shot out of the back of the bolt/housing. what the heck, peice of crap! What could have caused this? Should i invest more money to get the new part. im ready to through the hunk of junk in the river. i got about 500 shells w/ a piece of crap gun i cant shoot. what should i do?

in my 13 years of hunting and shooting ive NEVER had a gun break on me. i put a couple of hundred rounds down the gun and it breaks! thats crazy! the accuracy suck any how. o well.

Id luv to hear sum comments. SEND THEM.

39 veiws in 24 hrs. not 1 good reply. thats gotta tell u sumthin right there. the yugos a piece o crap and so is century. i got the run around from the dealer i bought the gun from and the company that imoports the darn thing. been told to call here call there. they couldnt even give me a replacement part for the gun that they sold. thats bull. ive heard so many conflicting comments on the sks in general it makes me sick. the gun is not reliable or accurate. its a darm shame to be affiliated w/ a peice of crap gun such as this. People need to stop kidding thierselves that its a good gun, because its bull that sum r good and sum r not. i sure got what i payed 4 and ill be darned if i buy another automatic.

theres one thing u gotta know.... and that is, that every time that hammer comes down on that pin, that gun better be going off. everytime no mistakes
one shot one kill..... or 2 if u can manage

Sounds like you bolt wasn't assembled correctly. I was waiting to see if other wanted to reply. I own a 59/66. I also own other yugo made guns. The yugo sks is one of the best made-the only complaint I've ever heard is that the barrel is not chrome lined like the russian and chinese sks. You must have gotten a lemon or did not reassemble it correctly. Mine has been flawless for the thousands of rounds I've dumped through it. I've even used it to bag some jack rabbits. It is not the most accurate gun, but what do you expect from a mil-surp? It is more than enough for large game, at 100 yards off hand with open sights you should be able to hit a pie plate consistantly which is the size of the vitals area. If you can't that probably isn't the guns fault. IF you need parts go to ebay-you'll find every part of that gun except for the reciever.

I've never seen a mechanical device that won't break.

The SKS firing pin is held in place by a headed cross pin through the bolt. The headed cross pin also holds the extractor and extractor spring in place. I would bet the headed pin is broken. There are several vendors in the internet that sell SKS parts for cheap. You could pick up a complete bolt and disassemble it for parts. Just pay attention to how the firing pin is installed. It can be assembled backwards.

thats the deal. im not want ting to put even a nother 10$ for the pin into the gun. i understand u got a good deal but my trust in this situation is shot/ gone. the firing pin stripped out of the pin that holds it in the bolt. i know what happened, but how? The trust in the gun is GONE. the primers of the shells i shot had holes punched in em too.

u bagged a few rabbits w/ urs?! w/ out a dout i know that was a waste! when i shoot sumthin, i tend to eat it, most of the time. there would be nuthing left of a rabbit if u shot it w/ a cal. such as that.

What should i do? sincerly w/ honest opinion. it dont make sense to me that most everyone got a good gun and i didnt! LOL!

Another thing... I am SOOOO glad that most everyones elses guns are in good shape. I would surely hate for any other man to go through what im going through. just my luck aye?

The wolf SP tend to not expand on a jack rabbit. So they just had a .30 cal hole straight throught. They all tasted fine-for jack rabbit. Punctured primers means something is wrong with that gun. I'd get a smith to check it out. Don't give up on the sks all together. It sounds like you got a lemon. What ammo were you shooting? A backwards firing pin can cause these problems too. It just sounds like selling the car rather than doing a brake job. Too bad, a broken sks won't get you any money.

i hear ya dude. i was shooting hollow points at the time. i just dont want to put any more money into it. im trying to sell everything i got for it 320 rounds, org. stock, synthetic folding stock, scope mount. im tryin to get rid of it as use for parts. i do not want the darn thing. i lost too much money in it

synthetic folding stock

Unless you've replaced a ton of parts with american made parts that is illegal to install, rediculous law, but it is the law. 822r is still in effect even after the Assault Weapons Ban is over.

If you want to get rid of it, I understand. If I were in Texas I'd take a look and would probably buy it if the price is right. But I can't even import a 59/66 to california unless the grenade launcher is removed or 'demilled' By then I might as well get a russian or chinese. (I got my 59/66 before the california DOJ got crazy about them, but the grenade launcher is demilled)
