I just picked up a very nice Century Arms Yugo underfolder AK-47. It has a new barrel that is no longer equipped with the grenade launcher, but the sight and gas shutoff valve remains. Is there any way of getting rid of this stuff, since it no longer serves an purpose?

Thanks but I like the way the new barrel is cut with the soviet style compensator. Besides, I don't have any grenades. I am more interested in getting rid of this gas cutoff valve and sight.

It was the Yugo SKS that had the launcher permanently attached. As nalioth noted, to launch grenades on the Yugo AK, you unscrew the existing muzzle device and attach the spigot. The launcher sight is correct for your model AK, personally I think it would look funny without it.

I'd imagine you could press off the FSB and gas block and install a new gas block, then pop your old FSB back on. It'd probably be more trouble than it's worth though.

^^^^

Plus it's not like you can mistakenly fire it with the sight/block in the up position. I can't imagine why anybody would want to bother taking it off.

Nalioth,

Do you still happen to have those Kobra sights for sale??? Been looking for some and I'm interested if you still have them!
