Hello everyone, have found some really useful info posted here already.
Just picked up a like new Yugo M44 mauser this past weekend.

Im a AR man, never thought I'd buy another curio rifle, but this rifle actually talking to me.

I'd placed a order for a yugo sling and front side hood yesturday, sling was $6/$5 shipped, the front sight hood was $6/$4 shipped.

So far I have some yugo ammo on stripper clips, also some 8mm ammo with silver bullets, dunno who it is made by or specs.

I found a awsome link on the net for cleaning corrosive ammo.

Now, Im looking for the best buy on yugo scout mount, the one placed on rear sight.
Also, if I go with that mount, will a regurler scope work?

Thanks in advance.

I have one from CNC Specialties. The aluminum base can flex if you go overboard on either of the two mounting screws. I'd say it is adequate for range use.

If you have a Mauser with full-length handguard (Yugo M24/47, M48, etc.), you'll need to file off a portion right before the rear sight to give clearance to the scout mount.

You need a long-eye-relief scope to put on a scout mount. Regular scopes won't work unless you shoot with your cheek right above the bolt. Definitely not recommended.

Thanks Mike, you have been most helpful, now im looking online for a scope.
Living here in the texas hill country, farthest shot I'll ever need to make, probably be 150 to 200 yards.
