Im going to turn a M92 pistol into a rifle by adding a triangle folder and a fake suppressor to meet minimum barrel length. What is the best way to attach the fake suppressor so that I can still remove it without too much work when my SBR paperwork goes through? I do know that it has to be "permanantly" attached and I cant just screw on the fake suppressor and be legal.

Note that I am neither a lawyer nor an NFA expert.

It is my knowledge that as long as the total barrel length is brought to 16+ inches with means that cannot be undone with bare hands then you are good to go. I'm sure there are lots of ways to do it. I know most pinned ARs and my MP5K PDW clone have a tiny hole drilled in the threads and faux suppressor/flash hider, and then have a pin going through both. Then this pin is either covered or welded to the muzzle device. One possibility.
Just be sure to not attach the stock until after the barrel is over 16". It'd be better to not even be in possession of the stock until that is completed.

To my knowledge, the acceptable methods are blind pin and weld (described above), full diameter weld, or high temp silver solder.

Might be worth just keeping it as a pistol until the tax stamp arrives.

How are you mounting a triangle folding stock? It's my understanding that the Bulgarian/Russian style rear trunnions are not compatible without some alteration. Even then installing them without damaging the serial number is problematic.

It will be drilled and tapped or I will install an adapter. The only stock that would damage the serial number is an underfolder and I dont like underfolders. I was mainly looking for info on permanantly attaching the fake suppressor. Im going to have a smith blind pin the suppressor. Thanks.
