Greetings all,

I think I've got my Kel-Tec SU-16B zeroed fairly well at 100yds. However, I'll be the first to admit that I absolutely suck with iron sights -- I qualified as Sharpshooter in the army with my M16 out to 300 yards, but we just had to hit the target and weren't graded on where we hit it.

I printed a few of the 25-meter army zero targets they use for the M16, but the local range allows high-power rifle shooting at 100 yds only, no exceptions.

Are there any useful zeroing targets one can download and print on 8.5x11" paper for 100 yard shooting with a .223?

Cheers!

I can't get the "200 reduced for 100" to open. The rest of the targets do, but not the one I want.

Does anybody have another source or a copy they could email me?
Thanks,
RT

This isn't what you asked for, but I use a 25 yard slow fire pistol target at 100 yards with iron sights on a rifle.
They are easy to get: this is a very common target sold anywhere targets are sold. The black is big enough to be pretty easily seen at 100 yards with the naked eye.

You really don't need anything fancy. Just something that is visible enough to your eye so that you can confirm that you have a consistent sight picture. I've had to improvise before and have used a piece of cardboard with a dot drawn with a magic marker in the center. :)

heypete,

Most all NRA-CMP-Military Highpower rifle targets with a round aiming black have the black at approx. 6.0 MOA. This closely associates with the width of the front post as you are looking through the rear aperture, making for the easiest sight alignment.

The SR-1, and other 100 yds reduced targets, all have an aiming black that is roughly 6 inches in diameter.

Consequently, 200 yd targets are about a foot across, 300 yds are 18 inches, and 600 yd targets are 36 inches.

Good luck,

I like the 100 yard smallbore targets sold at Wal-Mart. The little orange circle (the X ring) is just barely visible at 100, and gives me a point of reference to put the sight on.

Buy the BIG box of freezer paper, cut off some plastic or cardboard cylinder about 5 in diam (or smaller at less range), buy some cheap bright colored spray paint.

Rip off a sheet, spray big brightly colored dot on it, tack up to backstop.
