Has anyone here mentioned that Zombies don't exist outside of the context of Haitian religion (sometimes referred to as Voodoo)?

Just saying.

zombies don't exist? since when? I ran into some up in fort wayne the other day hoosierQ. don't believe me?
they kept moaning about common sense laws and brains...

Wouldn't a light saber cauterize the wound even as it was inflicting it, thus minimizing unsightly splatter?

LOL i KNEW someone was going to say that as i was typing it....

I'll Play

I hate the parts of movies were the good guy runs out of ammo so I would take an FN 5.7 pistol with a ton of mags and a HK UMP .45 with an aimpoint and surefire for the close in the house work. If these zombie's got me outside the house I would opt for an Armalite AR-10 carbine with an Acog and Surefire hanging fom it. Too bad a 3rd gun isn't an option because I would feel a lot safer with a Benelli M2 or M4 to grab.

due to my mispent youth playing resident evil, the only acceptable weapon for fending off zombies are shotguns. Zombie attacks are always close range! For a sidearm, i may have to ditch my beloved 9mm's for a magnum large caliber with hollow points. You need to blow their heads to pieces, not put holes in it!

im a beast with a machete, definitly would carry one.

a tac light/laser would be handy.

youd need a good old fashion flashlight as well

There would be no splatter as they are already dead, the blood and "juicy bits" have already cauterized. The only splatter would be from physical displacement of the juicy bits not profuse bleeding due to pressurized leaking.

Swords and lightsabers are fine, grenades, explosives and high cal weapons at close proximity are potentially messy.

You could solve this problem with clothing and a face shield/goggles and breathmask/ gas mask etc...

Or just a nice pair of Ray-Bans and keep your mouth closed when you plop a .45 in one's mellon.

Two words: mall ninja.

Thanks for the midday diversion. Work was getting boring.

It's the time of the season
When the love runs high
In this time, give it to me easy
And let me try
With pleasured hands

To take you and the sun to
Promised lands
To show you every one
It's the time of the season for loving

What's your name?
(What's your name?)
Who's your daddy?
(Who's your daddy? He rich?)
Is he rich like me?

Has he taken
(Has he taken)
Any time
(Any time to show)
To show you what you need to live?
Tell it to me slowly
Tell you what?
I really want to know
It's the time of the season for loving

Why would you possibly want to kill this classic????
LOL an XD9 and a Saiga x39

I always thought Zombies would have a hard time in cold places. It makes sense right? No blood circulating, at night when it gets cold here one could go out in the morning and see the zombies frozen solid in place and deal with them that way.

It depends on the type of zombie... if it is the traditional slow moving, dim witted type that require a bullet to the brain, I would take a .22LR for both my pistol and rifle.

However, if it is a fast moving and fast thinking zombie like on "28 Days Later" it would be my Yugo Underfolder, backed up by my Glock 20. I might even sling the old 870 Express over my shoulder if things get really messy.

So I go back to the watching CNN as it shows clips of the carnage.

The newscast is suddenly interrupted by Nancy Pelosi, Barbara
Boxer, and Harry Reid, as they proudly proclaim, that they are willing
to reach out to the leadership of the zombies in an effort to,

"Enable peace, love, and unconditional cooperation!" to the
newest (sic!) group of voting citizens to our great country!"

And suddenly - it occurs to me that the Zombies are attacking,
and eating innocent, "God Fearing!" voters everywhere except
Hollywood, and Washington DC.

That made me LOL more than I have in quite some time. Well put.

if i had to use guns i would take a g22 and my 870 with 9+1 mag. you want something you can top off without removing the mag, i can keep a pretty high sustained rate of fire out of the 870.

hahahahaha

but seriously if they are zombies from 28 days later there can be significant splatter with swords. Whether or not Lightsabers cauterize wounds is up for debate, although I think they would instantly seal whatever wound you made.

Luke's hand wasnt shooting out blood when it got chopped off by Vader so i think its safe to say its a good zombie weapon

Handgun? Ruger charger with a bunch of 30 round mags and a red dot sight.

Rifle? 10/22 with the same mags.

I chose .22 LR because it is lightweight and common and everyone else will probably be using all the other calibers. I'm betting that bricks of .22 lr would be left forgotten on the shelves when people raid the local gander mountain for zombie killing supplies.

If I couldn't use the .22 or if it wouldn't kill the zombies i'd take my sub-2000 and some 33 round mags.
