We hold "Family Fun Days" at the local range during the summer. We shot at water ballons at 100, 200 and 300 yards with any legal rifle. We also have other games that we play. Golf balls at 50 yards with rimfires, rolling balls which you have to roll the ball about 10 yards also rimfire, running...
Like some of you I started to save money as at the time I was in the military. It gave me ammo to shoot whenever I was home but unable to get to a store to buy ammo. It has now grown to a very enjoyable hobby that I do when foul weather or winter has set in and I'm unable to get to the range. I...
NY, NJ, and MD. I live in PA right on the border to NY and it really trips my trigger that I can't carry in NY. I can legally get a permit in NY because I work there for 40 + hours a week but to get a judge to agree to it is next to impossible. I know a couple of people trying to but it's been a...
My friend and I go to one that is about 1 3/4 hour away twice a year. We do it for the enjoyment of getting away from the everyday mundane and get with like minded people that are not PC. The price is $7 to get in and if you print one of their coupons off of their website you can get a dollar...
I have the RCBS one and also the RCBS die set. I've never used the Dillon but the RCBS bench mounted swagger is so much better that the die set it's like night and day. I have mine mounted on a piece of 1" board and when I'm sizing range pickup I move it to where I can use it without having to...
I have a Primary Arms 1x-4x on my carbine and it works great. It normally sets a 1x for home defense but by turning it up to 4x I'm good out to about 200 yards or maybe further
.
You can get either extension rings or bases. I have the same scope on my Savage 30-06 and have the bases on it which allows me some adjustment. I have used rings before also that works pretty well, too.
dvdcrr, What is wrong with 1.4 moa at 200 yards? That should be least then 1.0 moa at 100 yards. In my book that is what I expect for a factory barrel plus you didn't say if you reloaded for it or not.
$15 for yearly and $150 for lifetime. We have 10 covered benches and 6 inside benches for 300 yard rifle range, pistol range, 1 trap house with another trap house and 2 skeet fields under repair. These have been setting idle for quite sometime and the machines are 40-50 years old. We also have a...
Mine is probably my Winchester 1895 in 30/40 Krag. It was my father's deer rifle for all the years that I can remember. I was with him when he shot his last deer with it. It was a little 4 pointer (Eastern count) in 1968 or '69. He let put my tag on so I could claim it for my own. He only hunted...
Okay if they sent you a trigger group and you put it in you still would have to re-sight your rifle in because you have to take the barreled action out to put the trigger group in. It doesn't matter if you do the work or if Remington does it the result is the same you will have to re-sight your...
I use the Hornady 350 gr FN out of my Marlin guide gun. The only deer I shot with it I hit the backbone so I don't have an answer for whether it expands or how it holds up for penetration. It's very accurate out of this gun and with a whitetail and that size of a bullet I don't worry about...
