Just how rare are the pre war factory chrome plated hand eject pistols? Yes, I know the difference between nickel and chrome and that many were chromed later in life. I believe I have stumbled upon a factory chrome 6" square butt prewar 38special 4th model hand ejector. I'm curious just how many...
I believe it's a Lepage Frères by Nicolas Joseph Dessard revolver with bring back papers from 1945. Is it normal to have capture papers with non military guns?
Picked up a Remington rider magazine pistol that's not engraved. My question is why is there two small proof marks on the barrel. A crown over p and a crown over v. Any ideas?
Is there any reason that a 73 Springfield carbine would not have a cartouche on it?
Gun dates to 1880 and doesn't look sanded on. It is not a star marked gun.
Got a 514 in the shop today that stood out to me. Read that as someone that likes to drag home single shot Remingtons. It has 3 on the top of the barrel as does the 514s at the house but has two odd marks on the right hand side of the barrel. It looks like 2 script letters or maybe 2 dollar...
Victory model smith v547xx in 38-200. No proof marks on the frame but has a 2" 3/8 barrel with British proofs on the underside. If i get a chance ill snag a pic of it.
A 14 ga greener makes a nice addition to any English gun collection. This greener police gun mark III/14 is a straight cased 14 1/2 gauge with standard firing pin.
Its a 25 proofed at eibar in 1928 likely late in the year because of the b date code as well as ringed p (they switched to the ring p in dec 14 1928 I believe though most sources say simply 1929).
The slide simply says pistol automatic but there does look like a makers trademark on the frame but...
Cleaning out the junk pile at the shop I brought home a lightly abused hi point carbine in 40. Figured it would be a rare chance to break out of the norm and do something a bit crazy. Was leaning towards painting (shellac didn't like the plastic) it a nice familiar Russian red.
Anyone...
May be hard to tell from pics, I have not taken the wood off to see if there are any proof marks under it. All that is stamped on the barrel is a p and the numbers 65
Anyone notice how many dealers/importers list mosins on back order. I know a good percentage of firearms are on back order list atm but I never thought these would be.
