That jerky reeked to high heaven! You could use it for stink bombs. P.U. Didn't see any guns I wanted, either. j.

    Why no 28ga buckshot?

When I was in my teens (a long time ago), I had a regular fishing buddy who was then in his 70s. He was a small fellow but in great physical condition. His 28-gauge was his favorite gun, and I remember him telling me about loading buckshot for it. I think three pellets was all the shell would...

    Post office question

I'm not implying anything. I'm saying outright that those signs, regardless of how many of them there are and how many places they appear, have no legal force. The relevant law has already been posted here, and it says what it plainly says. j.

    Post office question

Those "No Gun" signs posted at some post offices have no legal force. Signs are not law. The law is the law. j.

On the Texas highways, which gun would you take?

I shot at the Fayette County Gun Club once, and it was fine. They charged me five bucks as a non-member. It's on 77 between Giddings and La Grange. http://www.fayettecountygunclub.com Jim

Need a source for .22 short

CCI makes high-velocity shorts in round nose and hollow point, standard (target) shorts with round noses, and CBs. Winchester and Remington make HV roundnoses. Aguila makes roundnose shorts in HV and SV. Natchez has a good many of these choices. Cole Distributing has the Aguilas.

    S&W K22 5 Screw ... good/bad/ugly price?

I got a 5-screw K-22 at the Pasadena (Texas) gun show last Saturday. Excellent condition. Most of the bluing is still very fine. A bit of muzzle wear and just a few tiny dings. Private sale. $300 OTD. I'm delighted with the deal. Jim

High Standard 22 revolver for $89??

I have four Sentinels, in 2", 4", 5", and 6" barrel lengths. They are good shooters and lots of fun. I usually carry one when fishing, and if it falls in the water, it won't be a tragedy like losing a Smith & Wesson. If I saw another good one priced at $89, I'd jump on it with both feet. Jim

    Best 22 pocket auto

I like my Smith & Wesson 2213 and carry it comfortably in my pocket sometimes. Some folks report reliability problems with these. Mine has been totally reliable, and I'm happy with the accuracy. Jim

Anybody open carry in Bib Overalls?

Interesting question. I wear bib overalls much of the time, myself. There's no open carry in public in Texas. I use a Smart Carry when I go off my property, and it works great for me--very comfortable and easily accessible. Out on my own place I usually have a small .22 in my front pocket...

Is there a demand for a top-notch conceal carry store?

Mike, Yes, it's right inside the loop, at the southeast corner of the intersection with Bandera Road. It's called The Concealed Carry Store, or something similar, and it's a little storefront in the corner of a little nondescript strip center. You are sure right about Texas Guns. They...

Is there a demand for a top-notch conceal carry store?

I think I saw such a store in San Antonio, on Bandera Road at the loop. It was after hours, so I couldn't go in, but I peered through the glass and saw lots of holsters and stuff. If anyone knows more about this place, I'd be very interested in hearing about it. Jim
