my bride just finished her CCW here in raleigh-wood and did very well. we had taken fighting pistol together at tactical response in tn and i knew she could shoot but she needed the class.
she did her best to do only what was instructed and not fall back on prev instruction, such as the...
my bride did fighting pistol with me in camden tn and it changed her. the class requests you read cooper and andy s prior to class and she did..
she had a mental change during portions of the class and is now considering more training, ccw and now 'sees' clearer.
not sure if i posted up...
it was good meeting ya this past weekend 1/2fast. learned a bit and opened up the brain.
the thing that i took away was the 'angels pissing' metaphor...being truely prepared is different. mindset, tactics, skill, gear
it was frustrating to read the sequence of failures and to see the end...
my bad...i neglected to pick up on the fact that it was loaded touring. hell no 25mph is poss with rondonne.
Century rides are not terribly difficult with a bit of training...but 25 mph average is way over the top.
on a GOOD day i can keep 18 for a 40 mile ride.
def keep sights!
for anyone recommending ramp sights..try to manipulate your hg with JUST the dominate hand..left hand is 'shot' for example..or hanging on to your child.
a type I or II failure requires you to work the slide. tap the mag on your knee, thigh, hip whatever. invert the gun...
"<cough cough>
I call BS

nope...easy peasy with some miles as a base. i regularly clock 100 miles days...done as many as 5 in a row. if flat it really is not too difficult.
as for carry. i commute a bit and generally have to carry a change of clothes and end up...
i do not recall what site i read it..so its with a bit of salt, but it said his AAR stated the 'vest may have been entangled with the trigger during holstering'.
i had read a few threads about elastic keepers from jackets and such entering the trigger guard and when the gun is holsters...
mine have been raised with the 4 rules and safety. i have noticed a phase change though that i have to be aware of...back when they were younger it was LAW and RULES and there was no dissention.
my son is now ten and i see the seeds of " i KNOW dad...geez" with certain rules other than guns...
george...looks like he prob caught a slash or two during the continuous cirlcling...do ya'll teach a continous circle motion to evade or circle to evade then distance?
good vid...show the timing and motion well.
anyone who thinks FoF is LARP needs an eye opener or two...the stress involved...
i too am in raleighwood...i had a guy come to my door with the same spiel a few weeks back...early evening still light out and started with the same lines...trying to win a trip or something, stay outta trouble..he was not terribly dressed but was not a student looking kid...
i noticed a...
no doubt!
i took a high round count class last nov and would not have been able to 1. keep up with " retape, reload, rehydrate " and 2. fingers would have been blood stumps half way thru day 1 without the uplula.
best $ i had spent in a while.
^^ agreed.
ours are driven by commands only. DROP! RUN! etc...
any situation where a set of quiet code words with some implication of necessary action are hollywood in my opinion.
In a time of crisis...code words will be replaced with clear and direct commands. The idea that I...
my car was rifled thru last night.
i 'usually' lock it at home and always when away from home, but last night it was unlocked.
I sent the boy out to warm it for me as it was 12 degrees this am...and he came running back in saying someone had been in the car.
odd as heck because they...
i doubt your 31 has been around long enough to lose the tritium..as you'd prob notice the wear and tear elsewhere... but it is poss. Trij will take care of you/it.
mine is not as bright as the EO but within a second or 2 in a dark room the cheveron becomes more visible.
I will have to look at this option...have heard good AAR's
have never seen/considered the 'negative target' but i understand the concept..may have to give it a try next time.
