9mm Bullseye load recipe

Can someone suggest a load recipe for 9mm 115gr FMJ, round nose plated bullets using Bullseye.

Hornady 8th edition shows

Start - 3.9 GR
MAXIMUM - 4.6

OAL 1.100

These are for RN Hornady bullets but can be used for your plated bullets as well. Make sure to stay on the low end to middle end of jacketed data for the plated bullets from Berrys.

Also, Remember that the websites of the powder you are using will show data for their powders. Book mark them when you need them.

And get a manual or 2 my friend. Lyman 49th, Hornady 8th, or the Lee second edition ( revised if you want )

I used to shoot Winchester 115 gr FMJ bullet with 4.2-4.5 gr of Bullseye at 1.125"-1.135" OAL (now I use 4.8 gr of W231/HP-38 at the same OAL).

115 gr Speer GDHP OAL 1.125" Bullseye Max 4.7 gr (1,144 fps)

Plated bullet manufacturer Rainier Ballistics recommends use of lead load data and Berry's MFG recommends start-to-mid range jacketed load data.

Lyman #49 lists the following:

120 gr lead RN OAL 1.065" Bullseye Start 3.4 gr (939 fps) - Max 4.2 gr (1175 fps)
120 gr lead CN OAL 1.110" Bullseye Start 3.8 gr (1047 fps) - Max 4.2 gr (1124 fps)

For 115 gr plated RN bullets like Rainier (.355") and slightly larger sized Berry's (.356"), I would conduct my powder work up with Bullseye from 3.8 gr to 4.2 gr using 1.125"-1.135" OAL.

Berry's regular plated bullets are rated to 1200 fps. The Thick Plated (TP) bullets are rated to 1450 fps. When using HBRN-TP bullets compared to the same weight RN bullets, due to the longer bearing surface, the bullet base will seat deeper in the case neck. Notice (see comparison picture below) that Berry's 115 gr HBRN-TP bullet has similar length as 124 gr RN and 124 gr HBRN-TP bullet is longer. Due to the hollow base and longer bearing surface, HBRN-TP bullets have been very accurate for me, outshooting my reference FMJ loads.

I used to load Bullseye in the 9mm, works fine. I've now moved on to Titegroup, 4.2 grains under a 115 grn plated RN, 1087 fps out of a 92fs.

I am running 4.5grs at 1.145" with Missouri bullet company hard cast. This is my favorite load, but be ware it's on the hotter side and should be worked up to.

I use 115 Berrys RN with 4.2 grs of Bullseye at 1.135 OAL. I got this load on this forum . My M&P spits them out everytime.
