I live in Oregon and I was wondering if it is legal to carry a shotgun or rifle behind the seat in a P/up Truck if you have a conceald handgun license im :banghead: on this subject.
If anyone can help please do
Thank you all
Clayton

Can't help with that, but I did have a shotgun behind my seat through the whole wedding right up to the I Do part. :D

I'd find that odd if you couldn't have a rifle in the truck. What do they do during hunting season?

That's a good question. Just a few miles north of you, in WA, AFAIK it's OK to have a long gun in the vehicle as long as it's not loaded. We always cover them up or place them out of sight during bird season when we break for lunch. Traveling to a hunt they are usually tossed in the back in a gun sock or some other protective boot.

But never, ever loaded.

Check the Oregon Game Laws, if I remember correctly they are the same as WA. Fine if they are unloaded, problem if they are loaded.

It is really not a carry question when it comes to long guns. It is more a game department thing.
