I'd consider it highly unlikely that O'Reilly would comment on this topic as he is rather open about the fact that he's anti-gun.
However, it seems that a number of bloggers have been going over this story.

At least one of the blogs is cross-linking to a number of sites that are either commenting or fact-checking on the story, and it's a rather lengthy list.
Based on what's been posted it would appear that one Drew Griffin may have broken the law by engaging in a cross-state private-party transfer.
Currently, this is only known among a number of gun-related bloggers, but there's no reason why it shouldn't continue to grow legs and move beyond just that small circle.
