Ordered the CZ today.
You done good. CZ 22 RF shoot excellent. I have three CZ 22 RF and a Savage Mark II stainless synthetic. My Savage Mark II is just not in the same league as the CZs I own.

The MKII with a synthetic stock is not great. Those with the better wood stocks- BTV, BV, BRJ, TR- are fantastic rifles at very good prices.

That said, the CZ452/452/455 are also very good. Basically, you can't do wrong with either.

CZ for sure. The quality is built in, you can see it and you can feel it. I also have a Annie that cost 2X as much. One day it will shoot a little tighter than the CZ and on another day the CZ will do better than the Annie. Overall, about the same and the CZ is built just as good as the German rifle. For a scope, a good one is the Clearidge, AO, built for rimfire. Nice all around scope for target or light varmit.

I have both. They are both great rifles for their price. My CZs shoot a little better than the Savage, but all 3 see a steady diet of federal champion rather than the good stuff where the difference really shows. The build quality of the CZ is steps ahead of the Savage, regardless of the stock on the Savage. I like both brands equally well, but if you can afford the extra cost I think the CZ is the better route to go, though you have already purchased so it doesn't make much difference now.

As for a scope. Well on $200 and at least 14x I would look at used. The Mueller APV gets in on that price range and its an ok scope. I have one and it has done fine. It is a cut above the average China made scope but not on par with Japan, USA, or Philippine made scopes. I would also look at the used Simmons 44mag or WTC scopes. These were Philippine made scopes and of decent quality. You can find them for a decent price today. Watch out for any newer ones that aren't Philippine made as the Simmons switch the China was a huge drop in quality. Other than those I really can't find a scope I would pay for that hits 14x for under $200. Watch Cabela's internet website in the bargain bin. Every once in a while they put their Alaskan guide line on clearance. These scopes are Japan made in the same plant as Sightron and seem to be a good deal at their regular price and a great deal on clearance.

Go to the gun store, pick them up, compare them, see which one you like best, and buy it. Savage has a great reputation for accuracy, as does CZ. Either will be a good choice.

CZ.

Here's my 452 American in .22lr w/E4200 4-16x40-

1st trip to the range, w/CCI Greentags, I was able to shoot 5/8" (.401" center to center?) for 5 shots at 50 yds. I'm NOT bragging on my skills, as I hadn't shot a bolt gun in 30yrs or done any real precision shooting.

These little CZs are just that danged good. My .22 impressed me so much that I just ordered a 452 Varmint in .17HMR & Weaver V24 6-24x42. Can't wait!

Re- 452 Varmint actions. Guys at rimfire central say that the .22LR & .17HM2 actions mount like the "non-American" CZs, while the .22WMR & .17HMR actions mount like the Americans.
