Hello. After much deliberation about a 5.56x45 rifle for myself, I decided to go with Daewoo DR200. It was a close call between it and AR180B. Finally, the fact ath AR180B had some mixed reviews, I decided to go with Daewoo.
You can still get them used for about $600 bucks.
It can fire both, 5.56 and 223 ammo, which is fine in my book. Uses plentiful AR15 mags.
I have yet to read about anyone complaining about the reliability or accuracy on it.
It has the same short stroke gas piston system as AR-180B/FN FAL and SVT40, which should make it pretty accurate. Maybe not as accurate as AR15, but more accurate then a SAIGA.
However, it is no longer imported. I heard that there are stores which sell spare parts for it, I also heard that some parts are interchangeble with AR15.
So, before I pick up a daewoo DR200, I would like to stock up on some parts.
Anyone can point me out in a right direction?

Thank you

Good luck on parts. They are hard to find.

Contact Derek Huffman of Arizona Expert Arms. Do a web search for his info. He has some new Daewoo firing pins and will soon have some cocking handles. He also has some rail mounts.

I've heard the entire fire control assembly can be replaced with stock AR FC parts. You have to swap out the H/T/S as a complete unit though, you can't just drop-in an AR hammer, for instance, and keep the other parts original.

The thumbhole stock Daewoo's are a little cheaper then the sidefolders. The sidefolders (K2, AR100, and Max-1) are nicer though.

I have a sidefolder AR100 (same as K2) and I like it. It is a bit of an "orphan gun" though and a standard AR-15 would be more practically in many respects.

Buy a second DR200.

Seriously, I think that's the best and possibly cheapest way to get an extra of each important part. There used to be a Daewoo group in Yahoo, and they had firing pins made custom at least once. Not sure if they still exist.

CNC Warrior is making firing pins and gas plugs.AZEX is making chromed firing pins, charging handles, and scope rails.Stormwerkz and Ace Ltd. make folding stocks. As more parts become available, the prices of the rifles will rise. The only thing depressing the price right now is the fear of spare parts unavailability.
