except the explicit statement below, doesn't seem like a “need” nor a “want” to me.
I also keep thinking maybe I should actually buy a 9mm, even though I don't really like 9mm and I reload almost everything I shoot anyway. But the G19 is so popular that it seems odd I don't have one. I mean, what if I lost an arm in a random combine harvester accident, and needed a pistol I could shoot effectively with only one hand? Perhaps there are good reasons to have a 9mm after all.
His money anyway.

@WrongHanded I know that you share a love of the outdoors and hiking with many of us.
Would the G29 provide you a carry advantage over your G20?
I like little pocket guns, you know that. I would recommend a j frame as a pocket carry, though the G43 & 42 cover that.

If your G20 is your primary would you carry the 29 also or does the 43&42 fit as a backup?

So, I like Glocks.....after forcing myself to like them. I'm not really interested in buying any other brand of semi-auto pistol because it'd just be something else to get used to, and I just don't want to do that.

But I just sold a gun and now have cash burning a hole in my safe. When doing the transfer, I saw a used G29 gen 4 that would be a nice summer alternative to my G20.

But seriously, I already have a G20, G22/31, G23/32, G33/27, G43 and G42. And I also have 9mm conversion barrels for the two .40s. Do I really need more plastic? Probably not.

The only smart thing to do with this money is put it in the bank, and then use it to expand my holster collection. Right?

Let me know which bad decision you think I should make. :D
Buy a stainless drop in barrel for your favorite one. The storm lake I had made a big difference in my group size.

Good thoughts everyone. I appreciate the input. Based on the poll results, I think I know what I need to do. The pragmatic choice is to NOT but another Glock.....at this time.

I'm going to put the money in the bank and maybe buy a .40S&W conversion barrel for the G20. Then probably spend the rest of it on ammo, components for reloading, and maybe a new set of dies to keep separate sets for 10mm and .40S&W.

Heck No ... buy yourself a nice Colt 1911 45 acp and see what you been missing .
To realy treat yourself ... have Clark Custom Guns do a Trigger Job on it ... SWEET !!!
Gary

I had a Sig STX 1911, which I then customized. Great gun! It's actually the pistol that got me started shooting and carrying right handed, because it (and other 1911s) never felt good in my left hand. But ultimately, it was too big and heavy, got dirty easily and was just more work to clean than a modern polymer striker gun, and had a relatively low capacity. Therefore it just didn't seem practical for me to keep. Down the road it went.

Got lots of Glocks but haven't built one yet, why not? Get and build a P80 for your collection. Everybody should have at least one ghost gun just to say ya got one.

If you aren't a GSSF member, you could join to get special pricing on 1 per year until you have your one (or more) of each Glock collection! Takes some of the sting out for those of us who seek out things we do not need but must have...

I have the 48MOS in my EDC rotation, but just added the 19X to my stable Saturday. That 19X is the bees knees! It shoots and handles great. Feels wonderful in my hand. If I were you, I'd give the model 19X or the model 45 a look.

If you are carrying a Glock 20 consider a 17.5
I voted 19.5 because I'd take that over a 29 if not under a mag limit. I dislike chopped grip that is made up for with oversize mag base, said by somebody with a 29.
I have a 17.5 and it is one of my top favorite Glocks, ridiculously easy to shoot well. If you don't have a gen 5 that is reason enough. Just do it.

Glocks are iconic, but these days, they're nothing special. Ergonomics are just OK, triggers are bad, slide is blocky.

Get an M&P or Walther or Beretta striker pistol in 9mm and kill two birds with one stone. When we handloaders have a 9mm, we occasionally have an excuse not to roll our own all the time, just like with 22LR or 22 WMR. ;-)

Too many.

Shoot the ones ya got more, or spend it on training > gear * new fancy holsters, etc.

Better one with a focus and 10,000 hours behind the trigger.
