I like the Sabre stuff because it will spray upside down and sideways. For SD I think the delivery system is more important than the actual product.

Sabre Red. It has 1.33% Capsaicin and Related Capsaicinoids and has an HPLC guarntee. Fox Labs is supposed to have 0.70% but it has tested as low as 0.33%. OC is shown to be consistanty effective when the Capsaicinoids are at least 0.90%. The SHU rating is the strength before it is mixed and the percetange of OC is the amount of oil in the formula. Capsaicinoids are the only method the Govt will use.

Spitfire Pepper Spray is a good product it has 10% OC 2 million SHU and is 1.4% Capsaicin (Every Batch HPLC Tested)

Is stream or cone better for less lethal SD?

My Blog.

In the NIJ Study cone pepper spray was 90% effective and stream spray was 72% effective. The cone spreads out over a much wider area, causes a severe gagging reflex and works much faster than a stream. Of course the Stream has less blow back but any product including Gel and Foam can blow back on you.

Both sprays are good!

Sabre Red is the brand I carry. I like Sabre because they company is ISO 9001 certified and has a in house lab that guarntees the heat rating of every can. But both Fox and Sabre Red will clear out a house in seconds (if you get the cone or fog spray).
