Dear THR,
For carry which of the 45s stated in the subject line do you prefer for daily carry?
Please explain your choice.
Thanks.

Ps
I chose Sig 220 Elite. SRT, decocker and Sig reliability was essential in my choice.

I like VBob as well but the tolerance on it is so tight that alhough its perfect for competition, it has proclivity to jam up if fired too much without lubing.

Glock 21. 14 rounds, decent weight, and I wouldn't care about some wear like I would a P220 Elite or DW. I just don't like HK's at all.

What's so cool about a decocker?

And the 21 is too bulky for daily carry, yet a Sig P-series and the USP .45 are fine?

Only the Dan Wesson sounds remotely comfortable to carry regularly, to tell you the truth.

Glock21 has great capacity but too bulky for carry.

If that's your take on it, why would you even bother to include it in the poll?

I don't and wouldn't carry any of these personally, so I didn't vote.

Apparently, you don't understand how to lubricate the gun properly. If you lube the gun correctly, it runs fine. I've shot one over 1,000 rounds without relubing the gun. Works all the time, every time.

Ouch! I can't decide. I love the P220, really like the VBOB (but not the price), have and carry the Glock, and dislike the HK.

I'd carry any of the four, but would like the P220 the most. If the VBOB were more reasonably priced, I'd buy one.

I'd most prefer to own the P220, but I wouldn't be thrilled about carrying any of these four firearms year-round, especially if we're talking about carrying concealed. If it were a duty weapon, I'd be equally pleased with a P220 or Glock 21SF. The HK would be my second choice; the 1911 would be my last choice.

I didn't vote.

Dan Wesson has a pretty solid reputation as a strong middle-of-the-road value 1911 line. They make a great basic pistol, they're not bad to build on, and they come right from the factory for what most people want their 1911s to do.

If you think they're overpriced, take a look at the 1911s that overlap their price point on either end, and see how far up they go. On the lower end of the DW price point you start to see pistols that objectively offer a little less in features, fit, and finish, and on the other end, there's a lot of practical overlap between the DW guns and the higher priced, more exquisitely detailed of the production/semi-custom brands.

If you look at the 1911s that are basically destined to inspire pride of ownership, a Dan Wesson is really a pretty low-cost option. They're just an inherently more expensive type of pistol to manufacture.

The P-220 seems to have a great reputation for quality and reliability. What about the Springfield Bi-tone .45 ACP I think it's like 33 ounches? When I picked it up it's easy to conceal, light and full size. How does this compare to all of the above guns as far as reliability and quality goes?

What is the SA model number of the "Springfield Bi-tone .45 ACP"?

I'd have to choose the lightest option, which I imagine is the Glock. Good thing it's a reliable option as well.
