I have a SA 45 Loaded. It has a lifetime warranty, stainless barrel, extended beavertail, lightweight trigger and fixed sights. You can get the target model for only a few dollars more. I shoot the heck out of this gun and it has been great.

I have heard that Kimbers are good guns and I seriously considered one as well. I settled upon the SA becasue of great warranty service.

I would not buy a Para as there are numerous complaints about horrible customer service. You've been warned.

CZ223 You are correct in that I did not really explain what I want the 1911 for. I want good-great accuracy at 25yrds and the possibility of using in IDPA/run and gun. I have a Glock 17 that I will be starting with this weekend (my first IDPA). The 1911 will be a range gun and not a carry gun either. I would like to start w/ some bells and whistles if possible. I am looking seriously at the SA mil-spec or loaded if I can afford and the Rock Island Match (cant ignore) - hand fitted, target sights, mil-spec everything, ect...and from everything I have seen their customer service/warrenty is close to the SA's. Budget $600-$700
