Have you folks got any particular firearm that you love the most, maybe for it's qualities or because of a sentimental reason? I just can't depart my G36K rifle as I got this on a special occasion and it does have a little more value than just the money.

I was just getting into shooting, and was talking to some friends of mine about getting a shotgun and doing some trap shooting. So, a few days before my birthday, I was hanging out with one of my friends again. His dad comes downstairs with a case, and says "I heard you wanted to start shooting trap, happy birthday" and hands me the case. Inside was a Browning Auto-5.
Best birthday present ever!
I Looooove my A-5! :D

Now I just need to con sombody into giving me a Beretta 686 ;)

Yes, I have several that are "favorites" for various reasons:

a) 1971 Smith & Wesson model 30 in .32 S&W Long- my deceased
father's handgun.

b) 1971 Colt Detective Special .38 Special 2" nickel in pristine type
condition.

c) 1992 Smith & Wesson 37-2 .38 Special 2" matte blue, again in
pristine type condition with NO cylinder drag line visible.

d) Springfield WW-II G.I. 45ACP received as a gift from a very dear
friend and THR member.

e) Colt AR-15 Match Target II 16" Competition with Bushnell HOLO-sight
and detachable carry handle and collaspsible stock in .223

Lordy~! :uhoh: And the two I forgot: a 1990 West German SIG-SAUER
P228, and a 1995 West German SIG-SAUER P220A. Now, I can sleep at
night. :D

If the place catches fire and I have time, I'm grabbing my B.A.R. and heading for the door. She's in the safe, but I'd rather have her with me......

Model 94 Winchester

My father bought it for me when I was about 11. He passed away when I was 15. That rifle is my most prized possesion.

Best dearest firearm

Well. That's quite a question.

Mebbe it'd be the Rem 513T that I slaved with and over so many hours on the range during my highschool days. P'raps my sporterized 1917 Enfield with which I took my first whitetail buck. Or mebbe the 1863 Welch (a contract Springfield) carried by my great-great grandfather to the Civil War. My Ithaca 12 ga double? No, my first target pistol, a Ruger Mk I. Wait, it's my new Savage M12BVSS that is turning out to be actually accurate. . . . Hmm. . . .

No! I've got it! It's whatever firearm is in my hands, THAT I'M SHOOTING, RIGHT THIS MINUTE! Yeah! That's the one I like the most!

I like 'em all, but the one I'm currently shooting trumps all the others!!!

My c1966 Dinan customized Colt 1911 and the Rock River Arms 1911 Custom Wadcutter that my sweetie gave me for Christmas. Both VERY good shooters.

Don't tell the rest of my guns that though. I wouldn't want them to feel slighted.

:D

Browning BL-22, my dad traded his deer rifle to get it for me when I was 12 years old. I still have it and will give it to my daughter one day.

I don't LOVE any of them, but the old Winchester M-97 Riot that was handed down has great sentimental value (and utility) and I'd try like the dickens to get my all IBM M1 Carbine out, and while I'm going for it there's the officer's issue M1903 Colt and the occupation GP35 and the '57 BHP and the Finn capture Westinghouse M 91 Mosin and ...

Beretta 92SB; I shot a bad guy with it as he tried to rob me. Lots of sentimental value but then most of my guns are special somehow.

The ones that were Dad's or Granddad's....

The Winchester Model 42, that was my paternal Granddaddy's will always be my most prized possession.

Smoke

Probably my SA loaded and park'd 1911. I waited many years to get it and it is exactly what I wanted.

Also a high one on the list is a mosin m38 my dad and me spent a lot of time putting into a handy scout type rifle.

I have an old A-5 that I'm partial to, a 1911A1 that I like real well but look in the back of my safe and you'll see a well used Ithaca single barrel 410 my Dad and Mom bought me about 100 yrs ago. I'd give up a lot before I'd give that gun up. Lots of memories of rabbits and squirrels hunting with Dad and Mom’s cooking afterwards. That’s the gun I love.

The only gun I currently own that is NOT for sale AT ANY price is my Glenfield ( Marlin) M-60 .22. I have had that gun since I was 15 and worked most of the summer to be able to buy. Not the most valuable gun I own, nor even the prettiest, but its my first, and my dad was with me when I, err he bought it for me. :D

Ahhh the good ol days when a kid could go to the sporting goods part of the store and fondle guns.

I am anticipating aquiring a couple more when my dad passes away, I am in NO hurry, and the longer the wait the better. That ( those) will also be "forever keepers"
