You'll find my comments (same handle) in that thread on dKos, and on plenty of others there that I have started there over the years.

Guys, I've said it many times - it's smarter to not try and link our RKBA with one political party or the other, nor one 'side' or the other, since then those rights can rise and fall with the vagaries of that party/side.

I'm proud to be a liberal who believes in the *ENTIRE* Bill of Rights.

Ya know...

There are pro gun liberals, and ant gun Conservatives. The way our system works is we are divided amongst the R and D tickets. The problem with the D ticket is the far left is in control of it. The majority of the leadership of the D party is more socialist in nature than actually D. When you have someone as far left as Obama as their guy for Prez, watch out...

When the Scoop Jackson wing of the D party broke off and really went R and independent, the D party really lost its conservative wing. The far left took over and now the true socialists are vying for power and may well get it.

So, the leadership of the D party is what scares me about gun control. I know there are liberals who do support gun control, but their leaders they elect to make trouble, do not.

So, since I am a fiscal conservative, and that is represented by the Rs, that is who I vote for. It also happens that the Rs support gun Freedom at a far higher rate.... bonus.

As a Democrat and member of this forum and other gun forums you than know my stand on RKBA. I have been attacked by other Democrats for my views, but I also know more that are pro 2A. There are more of us out there then people realize. We just need to be more vocal then we are now. We let people who would destroy our liberties take over, it is time to take the Democrat Party back.

One thing I've noticed - conservatives don't get stuff done. Sometimes "change" is needed and necessary, and you have to rattle cages until it happens. I think some fellows named Jefferson, etc., did that sort of thing.

Not to get off on a rant but:

When that specific person whos name needs not said runs this "Change" platform and is shrouded in a fog of marxism, racism, and downright confusion, i tend to be a little hesistant to believe in his, "Change".

What abrink said.

There's too much work done to save this country for us to waste any time calling each other names like "liberal" or "conservative" or what not.

Ain't ya got some letters to write to your congresscritters or somethin'? :D

I'm a Liberal and I love guns. So is Penn Jillette.

Why isn't this thread considered "political" and locked? I started a similar thread a little while ago and it was locked?
