Is this a good deal??

A good freind's Dad was selling a few of his guns and one that caught my eye was a Savage in .223. I don't know the exact model but I'm guessing it was one of the Carbine or Youth models because it was really short. Also it didn't have the accutrigger either. He said he would also give me a Simmons scope with rings for 200$. What do you guys think? I looked around on gunsamerica and impact and couldnt find a new one with a scope for less than 300$ or so. Should I treat myself to an early little Xmas present???

Yep, Savage makes a superb little rifle. I'd give $200 just for the rifle, so long as it's in decent shape.
