It's not grandpa's 10-22, still fun though

I ran across a 10-22 Troy chassis system and decided to give it a try. I'm so used to the AR15 platform I figured it would be a fun project. The rifle itself recently had a barrel swap for an FJ Federson, fluted and threaded. After mounting a Nikon EFR scope I figured it was ready for range time today.

I'm pleased with the way the rifle handles, and how it shoots. I know it leans to the tacticool side of things but, beauty, as always, is in the eye of the beholder. Figured this was worth sharing with the fine folks here at THR. I've included a few 5-shot groups shot from 50 yards as well, I was real happy about the last one Eley Target ammo. Interestingly to me, the rifle was more accurate with the Huntertown Arms G22 suppressor in place, and it was hearing safe.

Been wanting to build one myself but can't seem to find just a receiver. Hate to but an entire rifle cause I'll only have to sell the parts.

BTW - I really like the way yours turned out. The groupings are pretty impressive too.

Definitely like the look of that configuration and like even more the accuracy results. I typically get outstanding accuracy in my 10/22 with Wolf Match Target.

Looks like a great and accurate "squirrelman's rifle'!

I have a Wz-48 Mosin trainer coming to be my first .22 rifle. I can't wait!!

bannokburn, I've been meaning to try out Wolf match ammo, and I will at some point. A fellow shooter identified a really, really great deal on some Eley a while back, he and I went in halves and bought 5K rounds so, I'll be working this stuff off for quite a while, happily I might add.

Yes indeed, your results with your custom 10/22 and Eley Target ammo makes them a perfect match!
