My wife qualified for her concealed carry license and I am probably more proud than she! She read the recent thread on J frame carry options ( because that's what she will use) but noted that the responders appear to be men. She will not be using a belt or waistband holster, and she will not carry in a pants pocket, so she is interested in purses or purse holsters. Recommendations, particularly from ladies who have gone this route will be appreciated.

Sure, a purse if she'll strap it on her hip or leg. Purse/
Bag thing is the worst option. It's a big target for bad guy.
I know what she sees in the big name holster catalogs,
And it all targeted marketing. She needs to carry somewhere
On her body. And not a fanny pack, unless maybe she's
Fly fishing.

Check the line of Flash-bang holsters (bad name, great concept). Purse carry is better than no carry. Barely.

Belly bands could be on option as well. Very close to body,
Strong side, crossdraw, low near waist, higher on torso,
But the purse/handbag thing I feel is a big CC no no.

Women can be at a disadvantage with carry options.
I don't know your wife's build, if she wears tight
Conforming clothing? Men can get away with a lot more
Clothing choice wise. Maybe a small handbag with strap
Over/around shoulder could work. But, best option is
What I stated earlier. Good luck, and I would be proud
Of my wife's accomplishment as well!
