the ultimate holster when wearing a fitted suit is the Ken Null SKR (City Slicker)...the grip and major mass of the gun are in your armpit while the barrel sits in the pocket outyour shoulder.

if it's just an American-cut suit, i just slip my 642 in a Fobus paddle holster and slip it in my waistband behind my hip

I dont know if I mentioned I wear mine in my weakside pocket. I figure its my day to day its always in the same spot. When it serves as a back up the other pistol will be either at appendix or 3:30 posistion. I figure if its all Ive got I will also be fighting with my fist and I want use of my strongest hand. If they are not right up on me I have time to choose whether to draw from the pocket or from the waist. Either way my J frame is always in my left front pocket.

I am guessing that most of you guys that responded pocket carry don't wear a suit every day. Suit pockets aren't cut for J Frames, especially when put ina holster. The fabric is thinner and the pockets aren't too deep. Unless the suit is overly pleated, it shows. I also fdon't like pocket carry in a suit as it leaves me no place for other work essentials.

I also don't always have on the suit jacket. In fact, I probably wear it 70% of the time in the winter, but only 25% in the summer so OWB isn't an option for me.

What IWB holsters are you guys using?

The every day part, that's true. However, I just bought a Ralph Lauren suit for my wedding and pocket carried my 442 all day comfortably. Walked, trembled, danced, and socialized with no issues.

If your pockets are too tight you will need to get them tailored as mentioned or buy bigger pants. If it's printing you are worried about you will need a holster that effectively disguises the outline of the gun. Not all pocket holsters do so. See my earlier post with link to one that does.

I have 3 holsters. A nemesis for pocket carry, an Uncle Mikes cheapo and a crossbreed mini tuck. All 3 have their place. For a suit, depending on the size of the pocket, I use my nemesis first then the tuckable crossbreed.
