Bought a new Springfield M1A over the weekend and all I've read about is how weak the trigger assembly is but I can't seem to find anyone that has a complete mil spec trigger group for sale any help would be very much appreciated
I've just been reading online and there a lot of complaints about the Springfield trigger breakingNow, I am no M1A expert but I've not heard about weak triggers, so please educate me, how are they weak?

No idea how these folks are to deal with.
I think the standard M1A trigger is the best I ever shot and I have ten meter German rifles. I love a 2 stage triggerI have shot my SA M1A several thousand times, and I love the way the trigger breaks.
I have owned and traded many M1A's and I don't remember one that shot 2.5" group. I have a current one now the loaded one with a stainless barrel and I get 1" groups. its seems like a standard model except for the stainless barrelI replaced my M1A trigger with Garand parts thinking they'd be better. Other than knowing that they are GI parts, I can't tell a difference at all. I'd be more worried about the extractor taking a flight on you. Mine flew into oblivion on the 33rd round it ever fired. Replaced with GI and no more problems and I never bothered contacting SAI. Come to think of it, pretty much everything I did to improve the accuracy of the rifle has returned a net gain of zero. It was 2-2.5 MOA when I bought it and it remains the same today. I feel like it's a good one and perfectly acceptable to me.
being you have a scout which is not the original design might be the problem. I have never really heard of a scout being as accurate as the full size standard version. in the 80's I had and my friends had many of the Chinese norinco M1A's and they all shot under 1 1/2 with norinco ball ammo. my range had 200 yd range so we shot sitting and got 3 inch groups. try a full size version if you can. not saying you are not a good shooter and I can see you are honest I believe it is the scout version that is the problem1 MOA M1A's are the exception, not the rule. There are match versions and "accurized" rigs that will do it, but the average one you pick up off the shelf likely will not. Mine is a Scout version in a GI fiberglass stock with match front post and standard rear sight. It shoots the same whether it is in the plastic or wood stocks as well. I average 3 MOA with my bulk 150gr Hornady FMJ's and squeak out 2 MOA with carefully loaded SMK's. I invite you to pull out a measuring tape and see what 5" or 6" looks like, which is a typical group I get at 200 yards with iron sights. Not a cherry picked 5 shot group, but a 20 rd. magazine. I stand by the fact that this is good performance for an M1A with a decent shooter.
