I found my load for my Marlin 336ss 30-30. It is a 173 Beartooth Bullet with 30 grains of IMR 4064 and a CCI large rifle primer. The length is 2.535. The group is the higher of the two. The lower group was with a few rounds that I had trouble expanding. They shot well too. The scope is a redfield 3-9x40 at approximately 100 yards but was not measured.

micro-groove and a redfield 3-9x40 scope. I wish I shot that group with the skinner. The skinner is actually the loaner from marlinwoners.com. I don't have one yet.

I had similar results with RD .311-165 25 gr. Lever powder in my 336. RD was consistently better than OT 170 LFN. Tried mid 30 gr, load with OT 170 and got pattern, not groups. Need more experiments with the RD design and lever powder. BT doesn't show a pic of the 173 but I suspect it is like RD.

I cast the 311041 & it springs back to 3105 out the die & I have similar results with 3031, but your group is better than mine I may give 4064 a run !!

Great group. I have been using IMR 4198 and it does very well but will try the 4064. I'm using a Williams Fool Proof and OT 170 grs. and getting similar to slightly larger groups at 50 yards from the bench.
