I found a rifle today at my friendly neighborhood gun shop that caught my eye. I was hoping someone could tell me about it.
It's a Marlin .45-70 lever action. I don't know exactly, but I'd guess the barrel length was between 20"-22". It had a full length octagon barrel, and a full length tube magazine. The serial number started with "LTD." I couldn't find a date on it. It had a pistol grip, checkered stock, not straight, plain stock like the cowboy versions Marlin sells currently.
Price on this rifle was $475, which sounds reasonable to me even if it's not rare or special in any way. I haven't found a matching rifle on the auction sites to compare against, but if anyone has info, much appreciated.
