Just another example of a job Americans will not do
A job the modern Romans of America will not do because they are too busy
lounging on divans, consuming grapes, and cheering the entertainers of the
coliseum. I take absolutely no issue with foreigners who are willing to put
their lives on the line and
earn the promise of freedom that many
so-called Americans are throwing away.
Although I will not blame Congress for this trend, I hear there is a bill
currently making its way through that would also give citizenship to
foreigners who've completed
college here. Now on the surface that
seems nuts, but what it actually reflects is the couch potato brain drain
going on in this country. Whether our collective mental midget state was
brought about by accident or design is irrelevant. What the Congress does
is still by and large a reflection of what the Roman mob bays and howls for
at the moment. This is why we have native born people with age waivers
and grandparents going to Iraq --and are now looking at supplementing the
ranks with foreigners. The average person in their 20s and early 30s are
not even considering the military, righteous cause in war or not. The most
they'll do is put a yellow ribbon magnet on their car (as long as it doesn't
damage the finish) and call into an AM radio talk show and join the cheer
leaders on what "We should do." There's a certain humorous hypocrisy when
people are on the airwaves one day saying "We should stay the course" in
Iraq, complain about US job exports the next day, and foreigners who
refuse to learn English the next. Day after day of self-gratifying hedonistic
tripe, but they consume and believe it nonetheless.
Have a problem with foreigners in our Military? Then join. Encourage your
native born kids, friends, etc to join. We have too many people who want
someone else to do it, someone else to assume the risk, and someone else to
make the sacrifice. Again, this a reflection of what the US has become.
