First up is the 5906. Here's a pic. It is in excellent condition, doesn't look like it was used much at all.

I had never even held one of these before. It is super heavy, and feels like the most substantial gun I have ever held -- feels like it's a solid block of steel. I'd imagine recoil is very negligible.

The trigger is not bad at all. I've read bad things about the 5906 trigger, but mine doesn't seem to follow them. DA is a bit heavy, but smooth, and SA is smooth and relatively light. Overall, not bad.

The safety/decocker though... holy hell. Are they all this stuff? Decocking it isn't bad, but pushing it back up off safe is rather heavy.

I look forward to trying this out. Maybe tomorrow at lunch.

Ok, now, moving along to the American Tactical C92. This is the Beretta 92F clone.

I'll admit it -- I was disappointed when I opened the box and saw that the gun I received is not stainless. For some reason, I thought it would be stainless. Perhaps it's my fault for not asking CDNN and specifying. Oh well.

I'm impressed with how the gun is packaged. Included with the box are two cleaning brushes (one of which is a real brush with brass bristles), a cleaning rod to hold patches, quantity of oil, and a manual. I've bought $1,000+ guns that don't include cleaning rods or oil. The manual was clearly written by someone who is not a native english speaker, however.

The gun itself feels very well made. I field stripped it and everything looks perfect, no tool marks or signs of poor construction anywhere. Appears to be as well built as any Beretta.

The trigger is... not what I was expecting. This isn't a bad thing, it just feels different than other DA/SA triggers in SA. Most of them have a bit of creep in SA before they break. The trigger on this gun has no creep whatsoever.

I likewise look forward to trying this out at the range.

Well, thought I'd share.

When CDNN first got the 5906 trade-ins and was selling them for $299.99 I ordered one and have really enjoyed the pistol. They do not have them in their catalog yet but they also have the 6906 which they are selling for $329....

Isn't the 6906 the aluminum framed compact version of the 5906? Eh, no desire for that, I'm good on 9mm carry guns :D

Hope they start making a C92 w/ a tact rail.

iirc, the C92's were a one shot deal and are no longer in production. they made a few thousand and that was it.
