Well a friend of mine just bought one today in Tulsa. $675. I told him he was FOS beCause Marlin hasn’t made a 357 in several years. Then he sent me this.

I bought a new one in the mid 90's for $325 and I thought it was high. Kind of wish I had kept it.

I am a new haven conn boy. not happy about the changes of Mossberg, marlin or Winchester. however if the new marlin is built right I will give a weeks pay for it. approx. a thousand bucks. a weeks pay in the 70s was approx. 300. skilled labor here. just saying dc.

Did they finally get their act together to make a decent rifle? Not sure I’d want to buy early production models, their track record on that is not the best.

I have a mid-2000's 1894C, but would pay up to get one of these! If these have the quality of a Henry which are MSRP'd in the same'ish neighborhood ($859 msrp for a Big Boy), they might have a real winner on their hands as street price should certainly be below their MSRP. Either way, cool guns!

I'll be eager to check out the traditional versions when they're finally released.

Silly question, perhaps: why does the Mod feel he needs to close another thread just because it's on the same gun?

I think/hope Remington is turning it around. My brother and dad both bought Remlins 1895GBL two years ago. They were both very nice rifles, fit and finish was very good and they have shoot very well for both of them. Brother is still a recoil junkie so he is thumping the 325 FTX bullets as fast as he dares and Dad, getting up there in years, is loading traditional, even light loads, and both guns shoot great. Keep your fingers crossed that this is a trend...

I'm not a mod here, but it's standard forum protocol just about anywhere on the 'net to have one topic in one thread to let the discussion develop in one easy to find place. The honor of which thread stays open usually goes to the forum member that posted the topic first.

I'm happy to see this. Especially with the ghost ring sights as standard issue.

MSRP is rather high, but with the recent history of how things have gone regarding .357 levergun availability in general I can kind of understand. The market will correct the pricing as appropriate over time.

The fact they both have threaded barrels appeals to me and the ghost rings look like they'll clear a suppressor. I've always wanted a lever action suppressor host. But I do have my reservations on it coming out of Remington's plant. But if I can handle one in the store and look it over...

I've been hinting that if Marlin could finally get them out the door, .357 fans would be quite happy with what they have planned.
Several versions.
Get your credit card warmed up.

Denis, you called it! Didn't you also mention something about Henry coming out with some surprises in 2018 too??? Should be an interesting year.

That looks like a very nice rifle. I can't believe all the cool stuff that is coming out lately.

That being said, I won't be buying one because I already have a Marlin .357 rifle that I have owned for years. Mine is blue, but it does have ghost ring sights and it is also threaded. Mine doesn't have the big loop lever though. I haven't shot it since....................yesterday.

I would be waiting in line to buy this if I didn't already have a rifle very similar to this; this is an awesome rifle.

FWIW: I had mine threaded years ago. He did not shorten the magazine tube to thread it and I frequently shoot it suppressed using a 9mm handgun suppressor. I run plated wadcutters loaded light (bullseye type loads) and it is about as close as you can get to silent.

Henry will be making some people quite happy & surprising others.
Give 'em time.

Come on .45C, might just have to open the coin purse and expose the moths to sunlight.

After posting I did a search on gun genie and low and behold there’s a.45C available, anybody got info on it?

As much as I want a threaded lever gun, I’m not paying $1100 for one. I can have my existing 375 Win or 444 threaded and the tube set back for less than the cost of this new one.

Plus, they put a nice ghost ring sight on the one gun where it will be least likely to be used because of having to peek over the can. As much as I like that sight, a suppressed gun probably would benefit from a low power scope or red dot.
